AI AND AUTOMATION PROJECTS AND RESULTS

Proven AI and Systems Case Studies

Before investing in an AI audit or automation project, it helps to see what’s actually possible. These case studies show how I’ve applied AI, automation, and workflow optimisation across very different sectors — from food production and government to compliance and personal brand businesses.

Each example highlights the same approach:

  • Identify the bottleneck or compliance risk
  • Design a transparent, human-centred system
  • Deliver measurable results fast

Based near London and Heathrow, I work with UK businesses that want practical, compliant, and sustainable AI solutions — not hype. Whether it’s handling 13 million data points a year in food quality control, trimming £130k of wasted spend in government digital projects, automating 30,000 inaccessible reports, or giving a therapist a 900% productivity boost, the principle is always the same: AI that works with you, not against you.

Your first project doesn’t need to be high-risk. I offer rigorous proof-of-concept AI audits that show where I can deliver measurable results quickly, so you can build confidence before scaling up.

CASE STUDY 1

Automating Food Quality Checks for Global Cereal Producer

Challenge: On the cereal production line, around 250,000 data points per week had to be tested for legal compliance and product quality. CNC machines generated raw outputs on additives, steam pressure, salinity, sugar, colour, and moisture content and more. The process was slow, fragmented, and prone to error, risking both compliance breaches and product quality.

Action: Designed a bespoke system that automatically pulled in machine data, applied tolerance checks aligned with food standards. Built a clear reporting dashboard for non-technical managers. The system could process a week’s worth of data and generate reports in under five minutes.

Result: Delivered a repeatable system capable of handling 13 million data points annually (250k × 52 weeks). Reduced manual processing time from days to minutes, ensured full legal compliance, and gave plant managers instant visibility into whether a batch was safe, compliant, and customer-ready.

Case Study 2

Trimming over £100,000 of Government Digital Waste

  • Challenge: UK government had numerous “pet project” websites that were expensive, redundant, and didn’t fit into the new streamlined gov.uk approach.
  • Action: Identified which standalone sites were just vanity projects, proved cost savings of £130,000 in just one week on hosting costs and website maintenance costs alone. Assessed and helped the department migrate important sites to gov.uk.
  • Result: Delivered significant cost savings for the department and helped push through a more efficient digital strategy that aligned with the wider UK Goverment’s website service delivery standards.

Case Study 3

Accessibility Compliance Project

  • Challenge: Goverment department faced a legal challenge over 30,000 lengthy financial reports published online that were not screen-reader friendly. The task volume was too high, too detailed, and too risky for manual fixes.
  • Action: Designed, implemented and oversaw an automated conversion process for fixing 90% of the well-formed documents: with scripts to handle bulk optical character recognition (OCR) file conversion and storage. For the 10% of poor quality documents not suitable for OCR, such as those scanned at an angle, insufficient text contrast, busy backgrounds were automatically identified, the errors corrected by hand. Once corrected, the documents followed the rest of the automation process.
  • Result: Cleared the compliance risk within deadline, while reducing staff workload by 90%. The new process became the long-term accessible standard for the department, permamently avoiding the costs and avoided multi-million-pound legal penalties associated with their old workflow.

Case Study 4

Content Creation sTREAMLINING

  • Challenge: A childhood trauma therapist was drained by producing marketing content no one engaged with. As a personal brand business there was no one to delegate to, leaving them unproductive, slow, and demoralised.
  • Action: Built and trained an AI copilot aligned with the therapist’s personal brand voice, values, and business goals. This enabled them to create relatable content far faster without losing empathy or authenticity, while also automating back-office and lead-generation tasks that still needed a human touch.
  • Result: After a one-hour consultation, the therapist could create 90 days of content in a single hour — a 900% productivity increase. This freed them to focus on more impactful visibility, leading to an eight-minute feature on UK breakfast television and a three-page article in a national newspaper.

Ready to See What AI Can Do for You?

These case studies show the range — from saving the government’s six figures in wasted spend, to keeping global food production compliant, to giving solo professionals a 900% productivity lift.

Your business won’t need the same system as a cereal plant or a government department. But the principle is the same: find the friction, design the right solution, and deliver measurable results fast.
